I can not believe that in three weeks school will be starting. I am not so sure how I feel about that. Right now the girls are with me all day. I actually have some one to talk too... Not necessarily an adult, but it's still someone to talk too. Once they go back to school it will be just me the cats and the bird... :D The one good thing about being where we are is I don't have to purchase school supplies. My oldest daughter's birthday is the beginning of August so my mom buys all of her school supplies for her present. Then my youngest daughter is in elementary school and for some reason the teacher is required to buy all of the school supplies.
I try to make sure the girls start a schedule a couple of weeks before school starts. Once school starts I make sure they have their stuff together the night before (clothes, back pack, etc).
It does get cold here in Michigan and it snows... Can you believe that?! :D
Anyway ~ I send a 2nd pair of "snow" stuff to school with Lea. This way she doesn't have to remember to wear her boots to school or if she forgets her mittens or hat she has an extra pair at school.
Make sure when you send notes and such to school to put your child's name, class (i.e. 1st grade, etc.) and the teacher's name. This will help the secretary to sort the notes and such... It'll also save you time in the long run.
You know those parental release forms that you have to fill out EVERY year?! It can be a pain to have to remember phone numbers, address, etc... So why not make a copy of the form and file it then you have the information from year to year...
I make sure that the night before the girls' have their stuff ready so we can leave right away. I even make my oldest daughter get her makeup and hair stuff ready... It makes life so much easier.
Well I wish all of you the best of luck when school starts... Here's to a good year.

Romance Day ~ Aug 11th
Did you know that today is "Romance Day"?
Depending on what you would like to do will depend on what you will need. Do you want a romantic night with your loved one, a romantic dinner or how about an unforgettable and yes even a romantic gift?
Here are some ideas that may help you:
- Flowers (not just real flowers ~ how about one that will last forever like a gold dipped rose or a wooden rose)
- chocolate
- name a star after your loved one
- wine
- put a message in a bottle (get an old glass bottle, write something unforgettable, place it in the bottle with a string attached so it comes out easy)
- Scented candles
- Scented massage oils
- Gift Basket ~ You can place all of the above in the basket
For that romantic evening
- Send an invitation ~ either to his office or place it in his car.
- Set the stage ~ Make sure you have everything you need at least a couple days before the big night. Candles, fresh flowers, soft music, etc.
- Get rid of distractions ~ Shut the land line and cell phones off. Find someone to take the kids (even if only for a couple of hours).
- Indulge your senses ~ Plan a delicious meal that will be a sensual treat.
Here’s an idea ~
ASPARAGUS SALAD MEDLEY
Time : 10 min.
Servings : 6
This salad is a wonderfully light and tasty way to get the evening started. Asparagus is considered to have amorous qualities, and the red tomatoes are the color of love.
INGREDIENTS
1 can (15 oz.) DEL MONTE® Asparagus Spears, drained
5 cherry tomatoes, quartered
½ cup diced cucumber
¼ cup sliced green onions
2 Tablespoon white wine vinegar
2 teaspoon olive oil
2 Tablespoon chopped parsley
INSTRUCTIONS
Arrange asparagus on serving plate. Top with tomatoes, cucumber and onion.
Combine vinegar, oil and parsley; spoon over salad.
I hope you have a wonderful and romantic night.

Sunday ~ The day to rest...
Ya right...
I am the Sunday School and Bus Coordinator for my church... So today I had to be a bus rider ~ It's policy to have (2) adults on the bus at all time preferably not from the same family. So my husband rode with the kids to church and I rode with the kids home...
Church starts at 10:45 and I was suppose to be there early to get breakfast ready for the Sunday school kids... Well that didn't happen. I was about 5 minutes late and I was trying to rush the kids to get done because they had to get into the sanctuary. Service was over at 11:45... Then it's another hour to ride on the bus to drop all of the kids off. So that's about 12:45...
Then the girls decided they wanted something special for lunch so we ran into town. By the time we got home it was after 2:00. Then I sat down to read up on some things on the internet, check my email, etc. Well it is now 8 o'clock at night and I have done nothing but laundry. At least the laundry is done ~ Right...
I REALLY want to get my craft stuff organized, but I rent my own house. I would like have an office like this...
Or maybe this...
I frequently watch the show "Clean House"... I LOVE the ideas they have on there. But, I don't know how to incorporate that with my situation. As I stated before I rent my home. Downstairs I have a big room that currently houses my youngest daughter's toys. The walls are bare so that would be a great place to put my stuff and to be able to work down there while she plays. I also have another problem ~ MONEY...
I would LOVE to hear your comments on how I can go about organizing my hopefully soon to be craft room.
Have a great Sunday everyone...

Just do it...
This is my 1st time ever blog... I have read several articles on how to blog ~ what to do and what not to do. I have decided that I am not going to write about anything particular. Just a variety of "stuff".
For my first post I am going to tell you a little bit about me and what I am going to blog about.
My name is Heidi. I have been married for 9 yrs to my soul mate and best friend ~ Alan. We have (2) gorgeous girls ~ Allysa who is 17 yrs old and Lea who is 6-1/2 yrs old.
I am a person of many hats ~ so to speak. As you can see above I am a wife and a mom. I work outside of the home part-time. I volunteer for my church and an organization that helps the poor in our county. I am also the troop leader for the Girl Scouts.
I am going to be blogging about everything ~ holidays, recipes, freebies, organizing, etc. I want to have reader participation. So I will be posting certain topics and then asking for questions / comments.
I hope that you will all enjoy my blog and visit often. If there is something that you would like to see please let me know.
Thank you for your time. Now lets get busy...
